Data migration

Data migration is a key element to consider when adopting any new design, either through transfer design or new development. One would think that any two software that maintain the same sort of design must have performed similar projects. Therefore, the design from one system should map to the other with ease. However, this is rarely the case.

Automated and manual design relocate is commonly performed in migration to improve product quality, eliminate redundant or obsolete information, and match the requirements of the new designs.

Data migration phases (design, extraction, purification, confirmation) for process of moderate to high complexity are commonly repeated several times before the new system is deployed.

Although migrating design can be a fairly time-consuming process, the benefits can be worth the cost for those that "live and die" by trends in data
